This topic explores the different pathways available to students, the benefits of going to university, addressing the misconceptions of university, and exploring what is available to them. The workshop will allow students to design their own degree, explore the importance of entry requirements, course content and future jobs.

We offer two talks exploring GCSE options and exploring whether 6th form or College is the right path for your students. We look at why those decisions matter and how different choices could lead to multiple paths. The workshop will allow students to consider their future careers, researching what degrees, qualifications, and experiences are required for different professions.

Combining two of our popular sessions, ‘Study Skills and Revision’ and ‘Building Resilience and Managing your Mental Health’, this session will offer advice to students on effective studying and how managing your study can also reduce stress. The first half of the session will focus on study techniques to help students focus, before looking at how building healthy study habits can lead to a healthy mind and the importance of resilience for life inside and outside of the classroom.  

This session tackles the common misconceptions of university and gets students involved in a practical way to start thinking about going to university. 

The earlier we talk to students about university, the more likely they will be to access higher education. 

This workshop and/or presentation looks at planning and budgeting for university life, with a focus on weekly and monthly expenditures. It also explores the different ways that university can be funded. 

This session will encourage students to consider Welsh as a valuable studying option, and will detail the benefits of learning the Welsh language.

Our ‘Beyond the Classroom’ session covers the importance of extra- and super-curricular activities. The session will help students understand the difference between these activities and how extra- and super-curricular activities can benefit them. The session will get the students thinking about activities they already do and relate the importance of these activities to skills desired by universities and employers. We will also discuss opportunities at university, such as Placements and Student Ambassador roles to motivate them to look beyond their GCSEs and at the opportunities that lie ahead.

This session is designed to show learners the benefits of the Skills Challenge Certificate and the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate. It will cover the valuable skills they will gain from the qualification that can contribute positively towards their future education and employment opportunities, with a focus on real-world benefits. We will also cover the common misconceptions often associated with the Skills Certificate, aiming to motivate students to view the qualification as a positive part of their education and not an inconvenience.
